Original research was conducted through the examination of past years' Billboard Hot 100 charts in order to identify the countries that have been successful in permeating the American music industry. From there, three case studies – the U.K., South Korea, and China – were identified. Scholarly literature that addressed what could potentially cause "success" on a theoretical level was then examined and used to form a hypothesis...
